The Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge is on again. Students from Prep to Year 10 may register and begin their reading challenge. Go to the website for more information education.vic.gov.au/prc/


HOLIDAY FUN @ YOUR LIBRARY

School aged children will enjoy the variety of the school holiday program. During each holiday period Goulburn Valley Regional Library runs FREE activities. Past programs have included “ Great Inventions”, “Card making”, “Spreading the Word”, “Games, Puzzles & Trivia”, “Pirates”. Children have sketched, crafted their own books and cards, tested their knowledge with quizzes, puzzles and bingo, explored the Legend of the Blue Willow plate pattern, learnt about writing history, and explored the workings of the human brain.
Sessions run for I hour and bookings may necessary. Please phone your library for session dates & to make a booking. 


CBC Shortlist

Children's book council of Australia has announced the 2008 Children's Book of the Year shortlist. Winning titles will be announced in time for Book Week 17-23 August. This year the theme for Book Week is "Fuel Your Mind". To view the award lists click here.


STORYTIME @ YOUR LIBRARY

Storytime is suitable for children up to 6 years of age.The hourly sessions include several stories, discussion &/or rhyme time and a simple craft activity. The focus of Storytime is on the enjoyment of sharing books and stories, stimulation of language and the development of listening and motor skills.All children and their carers are invited to these free sessions. Monthly Storytimes are repeated at most branches of Goulburn Valley Regional Library (please phone for more information)
